AMEDEUS' MLB GOLD STRIKE!
(MLB) NY Mets vs. Texas,
Money Line: -120.00 Texas (Home)
Result: Loss
The Mets are coming into this game playing very well in their recent games. They have won their last 5 straight as well as 6 of their last 7 games, sweeping the Padres over the weekend, but they are still just 33-37 this season as they have not been great. They are going up against a Rangers team that is 33-38 this season and has not been playing great in their recent games as they were swept by the Mariners over the weekend, but they are going to be hungry to bounce back from that sweep against a division rival now that they are back at home. David Peterson is starting for the Mets here and he is 2-0 with a 4.32 ERA this season. He has been credited with 2 wins this season, but he has only had 3 starts this year and he allowed at least 2 earned runs in each of his 3 starts. He is also coming off of his worst start of the season which he allowed 4 earned runs and 8 hits in 5 innings, striking out just 1 batter in that game. He has not been striking out many batters this season either, only striking out 6 in his 3 starts, and he has not been very consistent over the last few seasons either. Jon Gray is starting for the Rangers in this game and he is 2-2 with a 2.17 ERA this season. He has been very good all season as he has allowed 2 earned runs or less in each of his last 12 starts, and he has allowed just 1 earned run or less in 4 of his last 5 starts as well. He has been very consistent all season and he was also one of their better starters last season when they won the World Series. He is coming off of a good start against the Dodgers in his last one and he is going to continue pitching well here as the Mets offense has not been great this season. The Rangers are going to be hungry to bounce back at home after getting swept and this is a good matchup for them to bounce back. The Rangers will win this game at home.
