(MLB) Seattle vs. San Diego,
Money Line: -140.00 Seattle (Away)
Result: Win
The Mariners are coming into this game with a 49-43 record this season. They have lost their last 2 straight games, losing their series at home against the Blue Jays over the weekend, but their offense has been getting better recently and they will be hungry to bounce back after losing 2 straight games by scores of 5-4. They are going up against a Padres team that is 49-45 this season and they have also lost their last 2 straight games, losing their series at home against the Diamondbacks over the weekend. Their pitching has been awful in their recent games though, allowing at least 7 runs in each of their last 3, and this is going to be another game that they allow a lot of runs in. Adam Mazur is starting for the Padres in this game and he is 1-2 with a 7.52 ERA this season. This is his 1st ever season pitching in the MLB and it has not been going well so far. He has allowed runs in all 6 of his starts so far, and he has allowed at least 4 earned runs in each of his last 2 as well as 3 of his last 5 starts. He has actually been worse at home as well, allowing 4 earned runs, 3 earned runs, and 8 earned runs in his 3 home starts this season, that being his worst start of his MLB career as well. Logan Gilbert is starting for the Mariners in this game and he is 5-5 with a 2.91 ERA this season. He allowed 4 earned runs in his last start, but that was also against the Orioles who have one of the better offenses in the league this season. Prior to that start, he allowed 2 earned runs total in his last 3 starts, pitching 6 innings or more in all 3 of those as well as pitching 8 innings in 2 of those. It is very rare that he has a bad start and even when he does, he rarely allows more than 3 earned runs. The Padres have not been hitting as well recently while the Mariners offense has been heating up and they are going to get to this rookie for some runs. The Mariners will win this game.
