(MLB) Pittsburgh vs. Milwaukee,
Money Line: -113.00 Pittsburgh (Away)
Result: Win
The Pirates are coming into this game with a 44-48 record this season but they have been playing much better in their recent games. They have won 2 of their last 3 games and their offense has been heating up in these, scoring at least 8 runs in 2 of those 3 games. They are going up against a Brewers team that is 54-39 this season and has also won 2 of their last 3 games with some good offense, but they have also lost 4 of their last 6 games and have been very inconsistent over the last week. They beat the Pirates 9-0 last night after a 12-2 loss on Tuesday, but this is not a game where the runs are going to be easy to come by for the Brewers. Paul Skenes is starting for the Pirates and he is 5-0 with a 2.12 ERA this season. He has allowed 2 earned runs or less in each of his last 5 starts as well as 8 of his last 9 starts, and he has not had a start this season where he allowed more than 3 earned runs. He is 5-0 this season but the team is 7-3 in the 10 games he has started in, and they always get up for him with some run support as they are coming off of a 14-2 win in the last game he started. Aaron Civale is starting for the Brewers here and he is 2-6 with a 5.18 ERA this season. He was just acquired from the Rays as he has been struggling all season by allowing a lot of runs, but he did not start his stint with the Brewers well as he is coming off of a start which he allowed 4 earned runs in his 1st start as a Brewer. The Brewers went on to lose that game 8-5 and teams have allowed at least 7 runs in 3 of his last 4 starts as well. This is a big mismatch with the starting pitchers and now with the Pirates offense starting to heat up again, they will find a way to win here and win the series. The Pirates will win this game.
