AMEDEUS' CFB KICKOFF KILLER!
(NCAAF) Cougars (HOU) vs. Sooners (OKL),
Point Spread: -27.50 | -110.00 Sooners (OKL) (Home)
Result: Loss
Houston is coming into this game with a 0-1 record this season after losing at home to UNLV 27-7 in their 1st game of the season. They lost 27-7 at home but they were never in that game and their offense was awful. They had no run game with only 38 rushing yards total and Donovan Smith completed 15/30 passes for 135 yards and 2 interceptions with no TDs. It was not until Ui Ale came into the game in the 4th quarter and completed 7/8 passes for 74 yards to get their only TD of the game. Their pass defense was not awful, but they allowed 195 yards on the ground and were averaging 4.1 yards per carry against them. They are going up against an Oklahoma team that is 1-0 this season after beating Temple 51-3 in their 1st game of the season. Oklahoma dominated that game at home, where they will be in this game, and they had a very strong running game which will cause trouble for this Houston defense. Oklahoma had 220 yards on the ground against Temple and they were averaging 6.1 yards per carry as well. This will only open up the passing game for them which Jackson Arnold was very accurate with last week, completing 17/25 passes for 141 yards and 4 TDs. Their offense was great at home last week and will be great again against this Houston defense, but the Oklahoma defense has really been their bread and butter under Venables. The defense has improved each season since he got to Oklahoma and they played great last week. Houston had no run game last week and they are going to struggle to run the ball here against a better defense that was averaging 1.9 yards per carry against them last week. They also gave up just 128 passing yards so Houston is not going to have many options here as Oklahoma pulls away in this game. Oklahoma is going to cover the spread in this game.
