AMEDEUS' CFB THURSDAY REDZONE ROUT!
(NCAAF) Sun Devils (ASU) vs. Bobcats (TXST),
Point Spread: 1.00 | -113.00 Bobcats (TXST) (Home)
Result: Loss
Arizona State is coming into this game with a 2-0 record this season, but their wins have not been very impressive. They won their 1st game of the season at home against Wyoming 48-7, but that was a decimated Wyoming team that also has a new head coach this season. They followed up with a 30-23 win against Mississippi State in their last game, but that was a game they were up 27-3 at halftime and did nothing in the 2nd half, allowing Mississippi State to come all the way back. Skattebo has been a force on the ground for them, but their passing game has struggled. Leavitt only completed 10/20 passes for 69 yards against Mississippi State, and they are going up against a Texas State team that can stop the run which will make this offense struggle to move the ball. Texas State is now in their 2nd season with GJ Kinne as head coach and they are pushing to take a big step this season. They have returned a lot of their production from last season and they have a very strong offense to lean on. Their defense was awful last season, but they have improved a lot this year. They are only averaging 58.5 yards allowed per game on the ground in 2 games this season and that is going to be key to winning this game since Texas State can slow down Skattebo and make it hard on Arizona State to run the ball. Texas State also has a very strong and balanced offense that can score points and they will be able to keep up with anything Arizona State does on offense. Texas State was averaging 36.7 PPG last season which ranked 11th in the country and they are only going to be better in Kinne's 2nd season. Texas State is a threat to win the Sun Belt this season so they are going to get up for this game at home against Power 4 team. Texas State will cover the spread in this game.
