Point Spread: 18.50 | -108.00 Golden Hurricane (TSA) (Home)
Result: Loss
Oklahoma State is coming into this game with a 2-0 record this season, but they have not been impressive in their 2 games so far. The offense has been good as they have scored at least 39 points in each game, but their defense has been awful as they have allowed at least 20 points in each game. They allowed 20 points against a much weaker FCS team in their 1st game of the season and they followed up with a 39-31 win in OT against Arkansas last week in a game they almost lost. They have been good at stopping the run in their games, but they have been picked apart through the air in both games. They are going up against a Tulsa team that is 1-1 this season, coming off of a 28-24 loss to Arkansas State in their 1st road game of the season, but they did score 62 points against an FCS team at home in their 1st game so this Tulsa team has an offense that can score points and this is a game they are going to get up for. Tulsa can attack this Oklahoma State secondary as they have a good quarterback in Kirk Francis who has completed 67.2% of his passes this season, throwing 5 TDs and 1 INT. They are also averaging 243 rushing yards per game so this is not going to be a 1-dimensional offense. Oklahoma State has also struggled to run the ball efficiently in their first 2 games, especially last week against Arkansas, and Tulsa has not been allowing many yards on the ground so their defense is going to get stops. Oklahoma State has won the last 9 straight meetings between these two, but the last 2 games were much closer as they only won by 9 points or less and both of those games were in the last 4 years. Tulsa is going to get up for their in-state rival and this is a sandwich spot for Oklahoma State, coming off of a tough win in OT against Arkansas and playing their 1st conference game of the season against a very good Utah team next week. Tulsa will cover the spread in this game.
