AMEDEUS' CFB ACC GAME OF THE MONTH!
(NCAAF) Cardinal (STA) vs. Orange (SYR),
Point Spread: -8.50 | -110.00 Orange (SYR) (Home)
Result: Loss
Stanford is coming into this game with a 1-1 record this season, beating an FCS team in Cal Poly in their last game, but they have already been tested this season and lost their 1st game of the season at home to TCU 34-27. Stanford is coming off of a bye week, but this is still a bad travel spot for an academic school playing on a Friday night. This is also their 1st road game and their 1st conference game of the season, and they have to travel across the country from California to New York just to play their 1st game in the ACC. They are going up against a Syracuse team that is 2-0 this season and already has a conference win as well. They won their 1st game of the season at home against Ohio 38-22, and now they are coming off of a home win against Georgia Tech in their last game. They won that game by 3 points, but they were in complete control the whole game as Georgia Tech scored 14 points in the 4th quarter just to make it close in the end. Syracuse is also coming off of a bye week themselves so they are going to be well prepared for this game at home. Stanford has had a good run defense in their first 2 games, but Syracuse has an offense that can throw the ball well with Kyle McCord and that is an area that this Syracuse offense can attack on this Stanford defense. Stanford has been averaging 278.5 passing yards allowed per game this season and they are allowing opposing quarterbacks to complete 68.1% of their passes against them so McCord is going to light up this secondary, also playing with a chip on his shoulder this season after getting burned by Ohio State. Stanford has had a more balanced offense with their dual threat quarterback, but their quarterback has also been a majority of their run game this season and that is going to be a big issue in this 1st road game if they cannot run the ball effectively with other players. Syracuse will cover the spread in this game.
