AMEDEUS' CFB FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS OUT!
(NCAAF) Fighting Illini (ILL) vs. Cornhuskers (NEB),
Point Spread: 8.50 | -125.00 Fighting Illini (ILL) (Away)
Result: Win
Illinois is coming into this game with a 3-0 record this season and they have been playing well in their games. They are coming off of a 30-9 win against Central Michigan in their last game and they also won their 1st game of the season against an FCS team, but they also have a very good quality win against Kansas, beating Kansas at home 23-17. Their defense has been great in their 3 games, specifically their pass defense as they are averaging 151.7 passing yards allowed per game and are only allowing opposing quarterbacks to complete 52.7% of their passes. They are going up against a Nebraska team that is also 3-0 this season and has been playing very well in their games. All 3 of their wins this season have come by 18+ points, but their best win this season was a 28-10 win at home against Colorado and Colorado is a team that has a lot of issues this season. Nebraska does have a very good defense as they have not been allowing many yards on the ground or through the air, but Altmyer has been an accurate quarterback this season and will be able to lead this offense down the field in the pass game. The key here for Illinois will be their defense though. Illinois' defense will be able to keep them in this game as Raiola is going to struggle more against this pass defense. Illinois has won 3 of the last 4 meetings with Nebraska and they are going to be hungry for revenge after losing at home last season in what was a down year for them, going 5-7 after an 8-5 season the year before. Nebraska has improved a lot this season under Matt Rhule, but so has Illinois and they have the potential to win this game outright or at least keep it close. Illinois will cover the spread in this game.
