AMEDEUS' CFB KICKOFF KILLER!
(NCAAF) Fighting Illini (ILL) vs. Ducks (ORE),
Point Spread: -21.50 | -105.00 Ducks (ORE) (Home)
Result: Win
Illinois is coming into this game with a 6-1 record this season and they are 3-1 in the conference, but they have been struggling against some weaker opponents in some of their games. They are coming off of a 21-7 win at home against Michigan in their last game, but they struggled to beat both Nebraska and Purdue as they needed OT to win both of those, even allowing Purdue to score 49 points against them. Their 1 loss this season was on the road against Penn State 21-7, but this will be a harder game for them as they have to travel across the country for it. They are going up against an Oregon team that is 7-0 this season and 4-0 in the conference, now with a great chance to make the Big 10 Championship in their 1st season after beating Ohio State at home earlier this year. They are coming off of a 35-0 win in their last game on the road over Purdue and their defense has been much better recently as they have allowed 10 points or less in 2 of their last 3 games and 14 points or less in 4 of their last 5 games. Illinois has had a very good defense this season as they are averaging 18.1 points allowed per game, but Oregon has been averaging 34.6 points per game and they have a very good offense led by Dillon Gabriel who has been having a great season. Their run game has been very efficient as well and this is an Illinois defense that they can run against, allowing 144.1 rushing yards per game and 4.3 yards per carry. That will open things up in the passing game which Gabriel will be able to pick apart this secondary at home. Illinois will only be able to hang on so long with their defense and they do not have a great offense as they have not been scoring a lot of points recently, other than that win over Purdue. Oregon's defense has been even better than Illinois this season as well, averaging 16.6 points allowed per game, and this will be a game that Illinois struggles to score on the road with the travel being a factor as well. Oregon will cover the spread in this game.
