Cleveland State is coming into this game with a 1-2 record this season, but they have played a very tough schedule to start the season. Their only win came against Baldwin-Wallace at home by 38 points, but they do not play in Division I. They opened their season with a 48 point loss on the road to Michigan and now they are coming off of a 13 point loss on the road against Kansas State, but both of their losses came on the road against much bigger schools who both play in much stronger conferences. They were not awful in that loss against Kansas State in their last game either so they are going to play well against a much weaker team here and will be hungry to get their 1st true win of the season. They are going up against a Valparaiso team that is returning some of their players from last year, but this is also a team that went 7-25 last season and 3-17 in their own conference. They are coming into this game with a 1-1 record this season, but they have not played any strong teams. They opened their season with a 20 point loss to Liberty in a neutral location and they followed that up with a win at home in their last game, but they won against Concordia who does not even play in Division I. Valpo was one of the worst teams in their conference last season and they are not just going to turn it around this season. Even an improvement from last year would still have them as a below .500 team this season while Cleveland State was much better last season and will be looking forward to this break in their schedule.
