George Mason is coming into this game with a 2-2 record this season, but they have struggled more recently. They opened the season with a 17 point win at home against North Carolina Central, but they have lost 2 of their last 3 games now. They lost by 19 points on the road against a very good Marquette team and they followed that up with a 38 point win at home over Stony Brook, but now they are coming off of a 1 point loss at home to Central Michigan in their last game. This is only going to be their 2nd road game of the season as well with both of their wins coming at home, their only road game being that loss to Marquette. They are going up against an East Carolina team that has been on fire to start the season this year at 3-0. They have played against 2 teams who do not play in Division I so those wins are not very impressive, but they also have a home win over Coastal Carolina by 4 points. They were a mediocre team last season, but they will be hungry to take a big step this year and are already off to a much better start. They also have a very favorable schedule to start the season as they play a majority of their games at home and will be looking to take advantage of that with a strong start. Their defense was very good in that win against CCU as well, only allowing 59 points, and they are going to get up for this game at home. East Carolina will cover the spread in this game.
