The Chargers are coming into this game with a 6-3 record this season and they have been playing very well in their recent games. They have won their last 3 straight as well as 4 of their last 5 games and their defense has been great in these. They have allowed 10 points or less in 2 of their last 3 games and they have also allowed 17 points or less in each of their last 6 games. They actually have the best defense in the league right now, allowing just 13.1 points per game. Their offense has not been great this season as they have still been figuring things out under Jim Harbaugh in his 1st season, but they have improved a lot recently with more consistency, scoring 26+ points in their last 3 straight games. They are going up against a Bengals team that is 4-6 this season and they have not been playing great. They have lost 2 of their last 3 games and they are coming off of a tough 1 point loss to the Ravens in their last game. Their offense has been on fire this season as they have one of the better offenses in the league, scoring 34+ points in each of their last 2 games as well, but their defense has been awful all year and it has been the glaring issue in a lot of their losses. They have allowed 35+ points in 2 of their last 3 games and they have allowed 24+ points in all 3 of those, including a game against a weaker Raiders offense. They actually have one of the worst defenses in the league this season, allowing 26.2 points per game which is bottom 6 in the league. The Bengals have a great offense, but they have struggled against better defenses this season and this is not a defense they are going to be able to move the ball at will in. The Bengals defense is going to allow the Chargers to get into scoring positions though and that will be the difference in this game. The Chargers will cover the spread in this game.
