USC is coming into this game with a 5-5 record this season and they are 3-5 in the conference as their 1st season in the Big 10 did not go as planned. They have lost 4 of their last 6 games and the travel has been taking a toll on them this season. They have played 3 games this season where they had to travel East, but even their last road game was only in Washington and they still lost as they are 0-4 on the road. They are going up against a UCLA team that is 4-6 this season and they are 3-5 in the conference. UCLA was awful at the start of the season and they were left in disarray to start the season with Chip Kelly jumping ship, but they have been playing much better in their recent games as they have won 3 of their last 4 and they are starting to put things together down the stretch. They are coming off of a 31-19 loss to Washington on the road in their last game, but Washington is also 6-0 at home this season and has been very strong there. UCLA won their last game at home against Iowa 20-17 and even though they are only 4-6, their last game of the season is at home to Fresno State who is currently 5-5 in a weaker MWC so UCLA has a good chance of making a bowl game if they win this one so they are going to get up for it. USC also needs 1 more win for bowl eligibility, but this is a bit of a look ahead spot for them with Notre Dame on deck as their season finale and USC would love to hand Notre Dame another loss to ruin their playoff push and end the season with a positive. UCLA does not have much of a run game this season, but they will have success passing the ball on this USC defense that has been allowing a high percentage of quarterbacks completing passes against them. UCLA has also been much better on defense in recent games so they will give USC trouble on offense, and UCLA won the meeting last season as well as 2 of the last 3. UCLA will cover the spread in this game.
