Alabama is coming into this game with a 6-2 record this season, but this is their 1st game back from a tournament last week and they did struggle a bit in that tournament despite winning 3 of their 4 games. They picked up a nice win in OT over Houston by 5 points, but they also followed that win up with a 5 point win against Rutgers, playing much closer games against those stronger opponents. They ended up losing their final game of the tournament to Oregon by 2 points though. This is the final game of a 6 game stretch for them where they did not play a single game at home, and they lost 2 of their 5 games in this span, including a 9 point loss to Purdue in their only road game played this season. They are going up against a UNC team that is 4-3 this season and they have been struggling in their recent games. They have lost their last 2 straight games and are also playing their 1st game back from a tournament, but they have been much better in their 2 home games this season. UNC has only played 2 games at home this season and both wins were by 14+ points. They have 3 losses this season, losing their last 2 straight, but all of their losses have been against quality opponents. They have a 3 point loss on the road against Kansas who is the number 1 team in the country, and they also have a loss to number 4 Auburn in that tournament they just played in. Their other loss came against a good Michigan State team in that tournament as well, but they lost that game 3 points in OT. Both of these teams are coming back from a tournament so UNC has the advantage being at home here, and UNC has played much better in their 2 home games this season while Alabama struggled in their only road game played. UNC is also going to have more urgency here to bounce back as they have lost 2 straight games now. North Carolina will cover the spread in this game.
