These two teams have played three times and the combined scores have been 168, 171, and 172. This is a game between the best offense versus one of the worst defenses in the league. This also is a flat spot for the Fever on four days rest and at home where teams tend to start off sluggish, especially with the early start. The Liberty have been a better road team giving up less than 77.4 points to opponents on the road. They play a stronger defensive game on the road and six of their last nine opponents, when the Liberty are on the road, have stayed under their team total. The Fever don’t force turnovers, nor generate any points from that and play at the third slowest pace. They get little in the way of points from any fast break attempts and don’t get enough points in the paint as they rely on 3 point shooting. The Liberty can take that away from them which leads to the total staying under. It is tempting to take an over in this spot because their games have hit the 170’s but in this spot, it may stay under with a more defensive game. The Fever have only gone over 171.5 points in seven out of their last 21 games. With a lot of new interest in the league, and with the oddsmakers inflating lines, bettors should wait for the total to run up before placing an “under” bet to get the best number.
