MACK'S CFL **END ZONE EDGE!
(CFL) Ottawa vs. Edmonton,
Point Spread: -3.00 | -110.00 Edmonton (Home)
Result: Loss
QB Bethel-Thompson is averaging more than 300 yards passing per game so their passing game has been good and WR Dillon Mitchell, currently sixth in the league with 355 yards, is benefiting from that. QB Michael Bethel-Thompson has led Edmonton this season with 1225 yards and seven scores on 108 completions. RB Kevin Brown is also benefiting from the Elks offensive play on the year with 140 yards on 31 carries in four games and they need to focus on keeping their run game going as much as their passing game. So Bethel-Thompson has some weapons to rely. The Elks have been good against the pass this season, holding teams to 279.8 yards a game, but their defense in general as a whole has not been great. They need to be careful not to fall behind in this matchup as they struggle to come back in games. As terrible as their defense is, especially defending the run, they are off a much needed bye week and they should be able to get a win at home as the Redblacks have a mixed record so far and are not good on the road. The RedBlacks are 0-4 against the spread in their last 4 road games and they lost to Winnipeg last week on the road and only put up 16 points in that game. They haven’t covered the spread either in seven of their last eight road games and Ottawa has lost 13 of their last 16 games as an underdog. This is also their second road game in a row. Edmonton may be 0-4, but they are off by a bye and have covered three of their last four games, and their last three games have been close games of 3 points or less, even against Montreal. The Elks have had the extra time to prepare their defense and address the issues that have plagued them so there is value in taking the well rested team at home in this spot.

Best bet: lay the points with Edmonton Elks.
