Both of these teams lost a ton of talent after last season but LSU having to replace three first-round draft picks on offense is a big ask. The thing that prevented both of these epic offenses from going further was absolutely atrocious defenses.

Both have hired new coordinators but I’m much more impressed by the upgrades on that side of the ball that have been made by the Trojans. The Tigers brought in Blake Baker from Mizzou, who made his bones by playing a tight box and forcing everything inside. That is a terrible schematic matchup for a USC team that likes to spread the field almost 75% of the time. This one should be fun as USC gets the cover and quite possibly the outright win.
