Stephen Nover's Free Wednesday NBA Play
(NBA) Detroit vs. Brooklyn,
Point Spread: 2.50 | -102.00 Detroit (Away)
Result: Win
I like the Nets far more as a 'dog than favorite. The teams met opening night in Detroit and the Pistons won, 103-100. That game was close and Detroit failed to cover as a 6-point favorite. However, the Nets shot 48.8 percent from the floor while the Pistons hit just 42.4 percent of their field goal attempts.

Both teams are off disappointing losses. The Pistons opened 4-0, but are now 4-2 after consecutive losses to the Celtics. No shame in that. The Pistons aren't in Boston's class for sure. But they are a level higher than the Nets. Brooklyn was blown out by the Knicks on Monday. The Nets were outrebounded, 53-32, by the Knicks.

The Nets also were outrebounded by nine in their loss to the Pistons. They couldn't control Andre Drummond, who had 24 points and 20 rebounds. The Nets are going to have trouble again with Drummond on the boards. Blake Griffin and Drummond provide the Pistons with the two best players on the court.

Detroit is 5-1 in its last six games against the Nets. The Pistons beat the Nets in both meetings at Barclays Center last season winning by 34 and 12 points.
