I regard Jacob deGrom as the best pitcher in baseball. Max Scherzer still is a great pitcher. Between them, deGrom and Scherzer have won five Cy Young Awards in the last eight years.
This low total would be justified even if the game were to be played in pristine conditions. But it isn't. The combination of this pitching matchup plus bad weather puts me on the Under.
The weather forecast is temperatures in the upper 30's with the wind blowing in toward first base at 15-16 mph.
Scherzer has a lifetime 2.70 ERA against the Mets in 24 appearances, 23 of which were starts while deGrom has a 2.61 career ERA in 20 starts versus the Nationals.
