Stephen Nover Free MLB Saturday Play
(MLB) Pittsburgh vs. Atlanta,
Total: 9.00 | -114.00 Under
Result: Loss
Now that some 9's are emerging, I'm going to go Under this total.

I can understand the early marketplace activity that has driven this total up with the pitching matchup being Zach Thompson versus Charlie Morton.

Thompson has come on strong, though, since posting a 10.05 ERA in April. He has a 2.05 ERA in his last seven appearances. Only once during his last eight appearances has Thompson surrendered more than two earned runs. He's backed by perhaps the most underrated closer in baseball, David Bednar, who has 10 saves and a 1.33 ERA.

Morton has been a major disappointment. Morton, though, has pitched better at home where he's 2-0 and has a 3.91 ERA compared to 6.89 ERA on the road. Only four teams have a lower bullpen ERA than the Braves.

Morton gets to face a slumping Pirates offense that has scored three runs or fewer in their last six games with five of those six games going Under the total. Pittsburgh ranks in the bottom four in runs and batting average.

(Editor's note: Stephen Nover is 18-8 on his last 26 MLB premium plays and has a premium run line play today in addition to this free selection.)
