Break up the Tigers! Detroit finished its best road trip of the season this past Sunday taking five of six from the Orioles and White Sox, two teams that were in playoff contention.

Now the Tigers step down in class hosting the Royals and Zack Greinke, who has been horrible on the road. Greinke is 0-7 with a 6.36 ERA and 1.62 WHIP in 12 away games this season.

The last two times Greinke faced the Tigers, he gave up a combined eight earned runs and three homers while allowing 19 base runners in 10 innings.

Detroit is going with rookie lefty Joey Wentz, who has been excellent in his last three starts posting a 2-1 mark with a 1.10 ERA and 0.73 WHIP.

The Royals are 17-35 in their last 52 road games.
