2014 Travers Stakes

#4: V.E. Day- Broke slow in his last race and trailed most of the way in the Curlin Stakes before making a visually impressive run. Could be sitting on a big race here. He figures to like the added distance of 10 furlongs and should get a solid pace to run into as their appears to be a few in here that could prove a protracted speed duel up front. His current form cycle shows he will improve off his last race.

#7: Wicked Strong. Winner of the Jim Dandy has triple digit figures in his last 3 and really stepped to the forefront of the 3 year old class. He has enough speed rate near the top and was also aided in doing so with the addition of blinkers in his last race he is expected to make his run at the top of the stretch and could be very dangerous if gets his lane. He is ultra consistent and figures to be right there at the end.

#6: Tonalist
Belmont Stakes winner Tonalist has earned over $1 million in his career. Tonalist has stamped his name as one of the top 3 year-olds in the country with Powerful showings against graded stakes company in his last three races. He has never run worse than 2nd in 6 starts and is another that will close at the wire.

#2: Bayern (2-1. Bayern has ripped off back to back career best efforts after a dismal Preakness. He will be right near the top and the big question is whether he will bounce off the 2 big races particularly now that he is in with tougher company.

For a win wager we will go with the long shot V.E. Day and box him with Wicked Strong, Tonalist and Bayern in Exacta and trifecta boxes.
