10* EARLY NON-CONF GAME OF MONTH - +$27K RUN!
(NCAAF) Bobcats (MOS) vs. Lobos (NM),
Point Spread: -7.50 | -103.00 Bobcats (MOS) (Away)
Result: Loss
This is a 10* NON-CONF GOM on Montana State.

Montana State will use New Mexico as a tune-up for the rest of the season. The Bobcats finished 8-4 last year, but with 21 seniors returning in 2024/25, they're expected to be even better this season.

Montana State finished No. 2 in scoring in the FCS with 39.9 PPG. It returns its QB, five offensive linemen, its No. 1 WR and its top four RB.s Tommy Mellott is a true dual-threat QB and I don't see the Lobos being able to keep pace over the second half.

The Bobcats also return four of their top five tacklers and seven of their top 11.

New Mexico has a new head-coach in Bronco Mendenhall, who has 17 years experience, but he inherits a difficult task in his first year. Devon Dampier was the backup QB last year, and he'll now be the No. 1 option after going 40 of 64 for 525 yards and six TD's over nine games last year.

But for the most part Dampier will be under a lot of pressure this season, especially in the early going as his entire offensive line has been rebuilt after all five starters from last year departed through graduation or the transfer portal.

The defensive line was also a major issue for New Mexico, and it's expected to once again be a weak point this year.

Look for MONTANA STATE to keep the foot on the gas from start to finish and lay the points with confidence.

Good luck, NP
