This is a 10* IL TOW on the UNDER Giants/Mariners.
These teams have been involved in several higher-scoring games of late, but I think that everything finally points to more of a defensive "duel" between these teams on Sunday afternoon.
Seattle continues its slide out of contention with yesterday's 4-3 loss. The Mariners though have now seen the total go OVER in three straight, and note that Seattle has in fact seen the total go UNDER the number in four of its last five after playing to three or more straight OVERS in a row.
San Francisco broke its two game slide with yesterday's win, and it's also now seen the total go OVER in three straight.
This pick for the most part though revolves around these starting pitchers, with Robbie Ray (3-2, 4.88 ERA) getting the call for the visitors, and Bryan Woo (5-2, 2.12) countering for the home side.
Woo is 0-0 with a 3.00 ERA in one start vs. the Giants in his career. He's also 1-1 with a 1.67 ERA in four August starts overall.
Ray is coming off a 4-1 win over the White sox on Tuesday, conceding one run off three hits over seven innings, no walks and nine K's. He's 1-1 with a 3.60 ERA in five career starts vs. his former team.
I'm expecting these guys to work into the latter frames and then I expect these talented bullpens and closers to help in keeping this total well UNDER the number once it's all said and done.
