UNLV is a dark-horse pick by many pundits to earn a spot in the expanded College Football Playoff this year, and despite it looking pretty good early on, I still think it's getting too much respect in this matchup.

The Rebels upset Houston 27-7 in Week 1, before annihilating Utah Tech 72-14 as 41.5-point home favorites. The Jayhawks come in as the more motivated side after starting 1-1 and falling 23-17 at Illinois as five-point favorites last weekend.

Will UNLV get caught "looking ahead" to its bye week? I mean, very possibly. It's then followed by consecutive home games, starting with conference rival Fresno State.

But clearly, after the disappointment at Illinois last weekend, the last thing the Jayhawks can do is look past this opportunity and matchup mismatch.

Kansas also has a bye next week, followed by the heart of its conference schedule, putting added emphasis on this contest.

As a primarily "situational" capper, I keep my eyes open for these types of games.

I expect a double-digit victory, so the lay the points with confidence on the JAYHAWKS.
