This is an 8* SLUG-FEST on the OVER Rays/Guardians.
These teams have been involved in several lower-scoring games of late, but the overall situation, along with the numbers/trends all point to this total flying OVER the number sooner, rather than later finally.
Tampa has won back-to-back games here to open this series and it's now seen the total go UNDER in three straight. Note though that the Rays have seen the total go OVER the number in eight of their last 11 after playing to three or more straight UNDERS in a row.
Cleveland has seen the total dip UNDER in five of its last six. Also note that the Guardians have seen the total eclipse the posted number in four of their last five in trying to avenge two or more straight losses vs. an opponent.
The home side goes with the erratic Joey Cantillo (1-3, 5.96 ERA), while the Rays are going with Drew Rasmussen (0-1, 2.79.)
Rasmussen has only thrown 19 total innings this year and will only be asked to throw an inning or two before making way for Tyler Alexander.
The book is out on both Cantillo and Rasmussen and when taking into account everything listed above, the OVER is the correct call as far as the total is concerned in my opinion.
