At the start of the season, I like betting on starting pitching matchups. And here's a great one to take advantage of.

The Giants got out to an 8-1 start, but they lost the opener of this series vs. a hungry Reds side that came into yesterday's 2-0 victory at 3-7.

And now I think the general betting public is way too quick to once again back the favored home side here. The value lies with the hungrier team and the superior starter!

Nick Lodolo is 1-1 with a 1.42 ERA and a tiny 0.71 WHIP for the Reds, while Landen Roupp is 0-0 with a 6.75 ERA and 2.00 WHIP for the Giants.

A great situational bet on a much better starter and hungrier overall team, catching an overvalued home side off a poor loss.
