These teams have been involved in several higher-scoring games of late, but I'm finally anticipating much more of a defensive lower-scoring "duel" here on Saturday.
Texas is 9-5 now after losing three of its last four. Last night it dropped the opener of this divisional series by a score of 5-3. The Rangers have seen the total go OVER in four straight.
The Mariners are now 6-8 after back-to-back wins.
Kumar Rocker is 0-1 with a 7.88 ERA after two starts for the Ranger, but I expect him to settle down here throwing opposite the Mariners' Bryan Woo, who is 1-0 with a 3.75 ERA and 0.92 WHIP for the home side.
With Rocker taking an expected step forward with his performance, I believe Saturday's game points to the UNDER as being the correct call as far as the total is concerned.
