This is a 6* BIG-CHALK PUCK-LINE DESTRUCTION on the New Jersey Devils.
Some times I recommend laying the 1.5 goals for the healthy return and in others I will lay the chalk for the extra 1.5 in insurance. For today's play, I will recommend the latter as I think this one will be decided late or in the extra frames. Certainly the Devils will be hungry tonight as they look to snap a three-game slide, but also to avenge a loss to the Isles earlier in the year. And note, before bouncing back with a 3-2 win over Chicago on Saturday, New York has given up a whopping 17 goals during a season worst-tying three game slide. New Jersey is coming off a hard-fought 4-3 loss at Dallas on Saturday and is in the midst of a 2-6-3 skid. New Jersey goaltender Corey Schneider has been pretty darn good against the Isles though in going 1-1-1 with a tiny 1.31 GAA, all of which have come on the road. Note that New Jersey is 9-8 (+1.2 units) in its last 17 after three or more consecutive losses, while New York is just 17-23 (-3.3 units) in its last 40 following a non-conference game. In my opinion, all signs do indeed point to the DEVILS on the PUCK LINE as the sharp move here.
