Total: 201.00 | -101.00 Under

This is a 10* O/U EAST-COAST EXPRESS on the OVER between the Atlanta Hawks and the Detroit Pistons.
For a number of different reasons (mainly strong O/U trend based ones), I am expecting this total to eclipse the posted number as the game comes down the stretch. These teams are arguably the hottest in the entire league right now, so it may come as a bit of surprise to learn that neither has been playing to many high-scoring affairs of late. Suffice it to say, I think that changes tonight. Atlanta is looking to set a club record with an eighth consecutive road victory, while Detroit is looking to win its eighth straight overall for the first time in over seven years. Atlanta has actually won 20 of 22 and six straight overall, most recently holding off Memphis 98-96 on Wednesday. Detroit will certainly be motivated, especially after falling 99-89 to the Hawks back on November 21st. Detroit has averaged 107.9 points and 48.0 percent shooting during its win skein. But as mentioned off the top, from a trend based stand point, this play is about as strong as you could possibly ask for; note that the Pistons have seen the total go OVER the number in nine of 16 home games this year and in eight of 15 vs. teams with winning records. And note that the Hawks have seen the total sail above the posted number in ten of 17 road games this season. In my opinion, the situation, the numbers and the trends do all indeed point to the OVER as the savvy move in this one.
