This is a 6* MID-CHALK CHOKE-OUT on the Minnesota Wild.
Some times a favorite is a favorite for a reason and in this case I definitely feel that the home side should be a much larger one and as such, I have no issues whatsoever in laying this price. The Sens have been on quite a run of late, but now face the NHL's best team since the All-Star break. The Senators have been getting great play from goaltender Andrew Hammond who has won his first five career starts. Most recently Ottawa is coming off a 4-2 win over San Jose on Saturday. While Hammond and Ottawa's recent surge has been a great little story, I think the conditions are definitely right for a letdown today vs. Minnesota which is 15-3-2 over its last 20 games, anchored by the continued solid play of goaltender Devan Dubnyk who has posted a 1.64 GAA in that time. The Wild became even stronger with the additions of Jordan Leopold and Justin Falk in the defense, along with Chris Steward up front at the trade dead line. Note that this is also a double revenge game for the home side which lost 3-0 on January 14th, 2014 and by the same score this season on November 6th. Look for MINNESOTA to jump out to an early lead and to maintain throughout.
