I think the conditions are right for a lower-scoring game. The series shifts to Long Island for an early Sunday game, something that I think effects the players a lot at this time of year. Washington though will welcome back starting goaltender Braden Holtby today, sitting out the last game with an illness. The Capitals would outshoot the Isles 30-14 over the final 40 minutes to storm back for the victory, but I am expecting a much more methodically paced game today, all knotted up means that players will be risking life and limb getting into shooting and passing lanes. Obviously the Isles won't be rolling over today though, their 25 home wins were tied for the most among the Metropolitan Division. To sum it up, after an explosive opening two games to this series in the nation's capital, I believe that all signs finally point to a classic, lower-scoring defensive battle in this one.
