This is a 10* BLOCKBUSTER on the OVER between the Washington Capitals and the New York Rangers.
I think the conditions are finally right for a higher-scoring shootout in this series and look for the total to fly above the number by/before the third period. The total has yet to eclipse the number in this series, but as with almost all of my Over/Under picks in every sport, I believe this is a great situational play. The President's Cup Trophy Winners are on the ropes down 3-1 and as such, I expect it to be all hands on deck for the home side tonight and believe that desperation will translate into production on the ice. Washington's grind it out style continues to churn out the goals, obviously the Capitals won't be rolling over today, they can smell blood in the water and will be as equally motivated. It's as simple as that for me, no need to overanalyse, in my opinion all signs do indeed point to the OVER as the savvy move in this contest.
