I played the Mets yesterday and the Brewers would surprise me with the 7-0 victory. I think the home side bounces back today though as it looks to snap its longest losing streak in almost a year. Jacob DeGrom (3-4, 3.46 ERA) gets the call for the home side and like his team, he's looked great at times this season and pretty pedestrian in others. DeGrom though is 8-1 with a tiny 1.30 ERA in his last ten home starts, giving up one run with nine K's in seven innings of a 5-1 win over Baltimore in his most recent on May 6th; note that DeGrom was 1-1 with a 2.25 ERA in two starts vs. the Brewers last year. The visitors counter with Matt Garza (2-4, 4.04 ERA) who is 1-2 with a 3.16 ERA over his last four starts, most recently coming off his best outing of the year in giving up one runs and three hits over seven innings in a no-decision vs. the Cubs on Sunday. I like DeGrom in this match-up though and think we're getting pretty good value on this hungry METS team that looks to break the slide.
