AAA's A.L. MID-CHALK CHOKE-OUT (LAY IT & CASH IT!)
(MLB) NY Yankees vs. Oakland,
Money Line: -146.00 Oakland (Home)
Result: Win
This is an 8* MID-CHALK CHOKE-OUT on the Oakland Athletics.

This is a definite pitching mis-match and I don't think the oddsmakers are in fact giving Sonny Gray enough respect here. Gray is 5-2 with a 1.77 ERA, most recently allowing four hits over five innings in a 7-2 win in Tampa Bay on Sunday. The A's come in hot as well, they've won four of six overall; also 15 of their last 20 vs. the Yanks and ten of 11 vs. them in front of the home town crowd. New York counters with Chris Capuano, who has served up as many home runs in two starts as Gray has all season; not surprisingly, Capuano has lasted just 7 1/3's innings in those two outings, most recently giving up three runs off eight hits with a home run in 4 1/3's innings in his team's 5-2 home loss to Texas on Sunday. And unfortunately for Capunao, a date vs. the A's is not what the doctor ordered to get untracked, he faced them three times in relief with Boston last year and was shelled for four runs and five hits over just 1 1/3's innings of work. New York returned to its losing ways last night, while it had won three in a row before Thursday's setback, it's still dropped 11 of its last 15 overall, including four straight on the road. I'm giving Gray the big nod on the bump, the A's the nod at the plate and that's obviously more than enough to tip the scales in our favor today; play on the ATHLETICS.
