The Nationals send Jordan Zimmermann (5-3, 3.18 ERA) to the hill. Zimmermann is coming off an outing to forget in which he gave up four runs off ten hits over five innings, saddling the veteran with his first loss since April 18th. It was his worst start of the year and obviously there's no reason to panic. Note that Zimmermann is 2-1 with a 4.13 ERA on the road this season. His counterpart today is Mike Fiers, who failed to complete five innings in Sunday's 2-0 shutout loss vs. the Twins on Sunday. Fiers would give up two runs off seven hits and three walks over just 4 1/3's innings of work. And unfortunately for Fiers, a date at home is anything but an advantage as he's 0-4 with a ballooned 4.35 ERA in Milwaukee this season. For the most part MLB handicapping comes down to the starting pitchers, I think Zimmermann comes in focused off his poor start and he and the NATIONALS find a way to get the job done at the end of the night.
