In a contest which I believe will be decided late or in the extra innings, I have no problems at all in laying the price for the extra 1.5 runs of insurance. The visitors hand the ball to Jeff Samardzija (4-4, 4.67 ERA) who would toss seven innings in a no-decision to the Pirates on Thursday, giving up ten hits and two earned runs while striking out seven. Samardzija has been a bit of a letdown for the White Sox so far this year, but he'll be looking to improve upon his 2-1 road record throwing opposite veteran Mike Pelfrey (5-3, 2.97 ERA) who gave up one run over eight innings in a no-decision to the Cardinals on Thursday. Pelfrey has clearly exceeded everyone's expectations this season, he's struggled with consistency the last few years, but I believe he will have his hands full today with a focused and determined counterpart. I think the writing is on the wall and a very tightly contested affair is in the cards, lay the price for the WHITE SOX on the RUN-LINE.
