(MLB) Detroit vs. Kansas City,
Money Line: -150.00 Kansas City (Home)
Result: Loss
This is a 5* play on the Kansas City Royals.

The visitors hand the ball to Justin Verlander (2-6, 3.45 ERA) who seemingly turned back the clock in his last start, taking a no-hit bid into the ninth inning, ultimately not being able to secure the no-hitter, but still finishing with a complete-game shutout. Verlander has slowly been getting better since his return from injury, but this is a great situational spot that we've always loved to play on, going against a pitcher in his next game following a no-hitter (in this case, a 1 hitter). And we feel the likelihood of a classic "letdown" is even greater in these circumstances when it's a veteran pitcher involved. The home side counters with Johnny Cueto (9-9, 2.94 ERA) who is coming off an outing to forget in which he gave up a season-high seven runs off 13 hits over six innings in a 7-2 loss to the Red Sox on Friday. No need to hit the panic button if you're a Cueto fan though obviously, those types of anomalous starts happen to every pitcher at some point of the season and note that since coming over from the the Reds he hadn't allowed more than three earned runs in any of his previous four outings. We love Cueto to bounce back and feel this is indeed the very definition of "great line value," play on KANSAS CITY.
