This is an 8* BLOCKBUSTER on the Indianapolis Colts.
Both teams come in at 1-2 and that's surprising for two reasons. It's surprising that the Colts have struggled as much as they have to this point, coming from behind last week to shock Tennessee and grab their first win of the season in the 35-33 effort. And it's surprising that the Jags even have a win at this point after the futility the team has displayed over the last couple of years. There are no more excuses for Indianapolis though, for a team which was projected by many to surpass the Patriots in the AFC this year, the time is now to start panicking. From a situational stand point, this play is about as strong as you could possibly ask for as the Colts will need to take advantage of this favorable matchup today, before a short week Thursday night game at Houston and then a revenge contest vs. New England the following week. Jacksonville has clearly made some strides this year, but note that this is a position in which the team has struggled in for bettors for ages, going just 1-5 ATS in its last six in games played on turf and 0-3 ATS in its last three "dome" games. Conversely, this is a spot in which Indianapolis has excelled in, 10-2 ATS its last 12 vs. teams with losing records, 12-6 ATS in its last 18 home games and 10-1 ATS in its last 11 vs. division opponents. If ever the Colts were going to win convincingly this year, this is the week and we look for the home side to answer the bell and to pull away down the stretch for the comfortable ATS cover; play on INDIANAPOLIS.
NOTE: Colts' QB Andrew Luck is not playing today, meaning this line will be dropping considerably. Obviously we're not too happy about it, but the situation still holds firm regardless of veteran Matt Hasselbeck being forced into action.
