AAA's EARLY SEC TOTAL SHOOTOUT!
(NCAAF) Mississippi vs. Auburn,
Total: 57.50 | -104.00 Under
Result: Loss
This is an 8* TOTAL SHOOTOUT on the OVER between Mississippi and Auburn.

When the smoke clears at the end of this one, we expect this total to sneak above the posted number. After dropping games to Florida and Memphis, Ole Miss looked to be on the ropes, but a 23-3 win over Texas A&M last weekend means that the Runnin Rebels control their own fate in the SEC West because of their road win over Alabama on September 19th. QB Chad Kelly and WR Laquon Treadwell lead an offense which ranks atop the conference in several offensive statistical categories, another loss though and Ole Miss would almost certainly miss its shot at making it to Atlanta. Auburn was ranked No. 6 in the preseason poll, so its 4-3 record is obviously a huge disappointment. That said, Gus Malzahn and company won't be going down without a fight and last week's four OT loss against Arkansas is just fuel for the fire in my opinion. And in our professional opinion, all of these situational factors do indeed point to a higher-scoring affair in this spot. Ole Miss has been "hit-or-miss" with its defensive performance of late, it look awesome in last weeks win over Texas A&M, but surrendered 491 total yards of offense in the the embarrassing loss to Memphis two weeks ago. Clearly the Tigers are going to have to move the ball today in order to keep pace with Mississippi though, as Kelly and a talented group of WR's have been destroying the conference already this season. Auburn's weakness is clearly on the defensive side of the ball, it's not been able to slow down anybody yet and now not only can Ole Miss hurt you through the air, but also on the ground as the attack posted 230 rushing yards on the Aggies behind the superb play of Akeem Judd and Jaylen Walton last week; note that Auburn's rush defense ranks 107th in the country. We think the visitors keep the foot on the gas from start to finish and expect the home side to break a couple of big plays, all signs do indeed point to the OVER as the savvy move in this contest.
