When the smoke clears at the end of this one, we're looking for this total to sneak below the posted number. At 7-0 overall and 3-0 in conference, the Hawkeyes are arguably the "hottest" team in the country. To remain unbeaten, they must concentrate on the task at hand, which means shutting down a potentially dangerous Maryland Terrapins team. The Terps though will clearly have their hands full in a hostile Kinnick Stadium where the Hawkeyes are 4-0 on the season. That said though, Maryland looked a lot better in all facets of the game vs. a talented group of Nittany Lions last week, dominating nearly every statistical category except one, the final score. Given the nature of injuries from week to week though, Iowa has yet to even reach its full potential and its seems highly unlikely that the Terrapins will be to put together back-to-back monumental efforts, all signs do indeed point to a letdown this weekend. Note that Maryland has seen the total go UNDER the number in seven of its last 13 away from friendly confines, while Iowa has seen the total sneak below the posted number in three of its last five as a favorite in the 10.5 to 21 points range.
