So far these two starters have been everything their teams could ask for to this point, but we think each will get chased early in the finale of this three game set between bitter rivals. Jeff Samardzija had an uneven 2015 with the White Sox and his debut for the Giants wasn't spectacular, but he finally found his footing in a 7-2 win over the Rockies on Tuesday. Kenta Maeda has allowed zero runs over his first two starts, leaving with a 1-0 lead over Arizona on Tuesday, but letdown by his bullpen in the eventual 4-2 loss. Maeda though now faces his toughest test to date, the Giants are pounding the cover off the ball right now, they'd homer eight times and score 26 runs to take three of four from LA last week and put up four runs in just four innings vs. Kazmir yesterday. Note that Angel Pagan is 11 for 25 during a seven-game hitting streak. After pounding Madison Bumgarner for seven runs in five innings in Friday's 7-3 victory, the Dodgers were held in check for the most part yesterday, the setback snapping a three-game win streak. Note that San Francisco has seen the total go OVER the number in 27 of its last 40 as a road dog of +125 to +150, while LA has seen the total go OVER in 25 of its last 41 as a home fav of -125 to -150. We think that the writing is on the wall and that a "slug-fest" is in the cards, play on the OVER.
