This is the final game of a long ten-game road trip for the Giants and we think they're going to be caught looking ahead to a day off and then the comforts of friendly confines. The Cards on the other hand broke a three-game home losing streak with yesterday's victory and will clearly be looking to keep the momentum rolling. Jake Peavy (2-5, 6.34 ERA) gets the call for the visitors, he's coming off a decent start in which he gave up one run over six innings in a win over the light-hitting Padres on Wednesday. Peavy though has been horrible on the road this year, going 1-3 with a ballooned 7.20 ERA. The home side hands the ball to Carlos Martinez (5-5, 3.69), who will look to build off his best outing of the campaign, going eight innings vs. Milwaukee on Monday, allowing five hits and a walk while striking out eight in the victory. We love Martinez in this matchup and as we outlined above, this is a great "situational" play on ST. LOUIS as well.
