REASONING: We base our Over/Under picks on "situation," "motivation" and "trends." This one sets up nicely for a higher-scoring shootout in our opinion. What's the first thing that comes to mind when you think of these two teams? For us, it's high-powered, high-octane offensive units. Over the last couple of season's, these have consistently been two of the highest scoring teams in the league. But so far that hasn't really been the case this year, as each is struggling with offensive consistency from game-to-game. The Bolts have alternated wins and losses over their last six games, after going 0-4 previous to that stretch. New York has lost seven of its last ten. Clearly both teams are looking to break out of their respective funks and here's the perfect stage to do just that, as this is the only game in the NHL tonight. New York will be especially motivated at it looks to avoid the regular season series sweep, having already dropped two previous. Both have been getting decent, but unspectacular goaltending. Note that Tampa Bay has seen the total go OVER the number in 11 of its last 15 after playing to three or more consecutive UNDERs, while New York has seen the total go OVER in two of its last three in trying to revenge a loss vs. an opponent.
