We're expecting these two hungry sides to combine for just enough offense to push this one OVER the number as the game comes down the stretch. Anaheim shares first place in the Pacific with the LA Kings and the Oilers, while New York owns the worst record in the Eastern Conference. The Isles have now lost four consecutive games this month and seven of their last eight, with two of those setbacks happening in OT and two others in the shootout. The Islanders were one of the highest scoring teams in the league last year, but the offense has so far stalled: "I have a lot of belief in everyone in that room," Isles' GM Garth Snow said yestrerday. "The great part about facing adversity is that you see who rises to the top. When you face adversity, it's a great challenge, and I look forward to seeing who rises to that challenge." Bad news for New York's defense today though, as defensemen Ryan Pulock and Dennis Seidenberg both remain unavailable due to injury. The Ducks will look to take advantage, note that Anaheim has seen the total go OVER the number in four of its last five home games with a total of 5 or less. We expect the desperate Isles to put a lot of pucks on net tonight as they look to break the slide. All signs do indeed point to the OVER as the savvy move in this contest.
