Money Line: -174.00 Boston (Home)
Result: Win
This is a 9* BIG TIGER on the Boston Red Sox (7:10 EST).
We think the talent discrepancy on the mound absolutely justifies in laying this larger price. The visitors go with John Lamb (0-0, 5.40 ERA) who gave up three earned runs off six hits and a walk while striking out four over 3.1 innings on Thursday in a no-decision to the Jays. Lamb would give up a home run and three doubles and he's so far allowed 1.7 HR/9 across 124.2 innings of work. Boston counters with David Price (8-5, 3.81 ERA) who gave up three runs off seven hits with three strikeouts over six innings in a loss to Minnesota on Wednesday. Over six previous starts though Price had posted a 2.64 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and a 47:14 K:BB over 44.1 innings. There's no reason not to think that Price won't be able to get back to his consistent ways in this one; note that he's 5-3 with a 3.91 ERA in all "night" contests thus far as well. Additionally note that the Angels are a horrible 6-12 (-9.7 units) against left-handed starters this year, while the Red Sox are 5-0 (+5 units) this season after shutting out their opponent. Lay the price with confidence, play on the RED SOX.
