We base our picks on many different things. This particular selection is a great situational play, based upon unrealistic and lop-sided trends/numbers. The Canucks are 6-2-1-0 overall, but 8-1 to the puckline. San Jose is 0-8-0-1, including just 1-8 to the puckline. At some point the Sharks are going to win in regulation, and that could even be tonight, but at this price we think we're getting fantastic value here on the puckline option. Vancouver is clearly the better team, but with a much more exciting and difficult upcoming schedule, with games at home vs. Dallas and Edmonton, followed by an Eastern road swing, would anyone fault the overachieving Canucks for looking past their lowly opponent tonight?! It's the first matchup of the year between the teams and we're expecting a tighter than expected battle; the play is SJ on the "puckline" option!
