AAA's VERY EARLY TOTAL "ASSASSIN!"
(MLB) St. Louis vs. Philadelphia,
Total: 8.50 | -114.00 Over
Result: Win
This is an 8* TOTAL ASSASSIN on the UNDER between the St. Louis Cardinals and the Philadelphia Phillies.

I am a situational handicapper at heart, but I don't follow any one particular handicapping methodology and believe that being flexible with ones approach is the best way to earn longterm profits. That said, I always keep my eyes open for lopsided trends or numbers to exploit and this particular contest falls under that catetory. With yesterday's 6-5 win, the Cardinals have seen the total go OVER the number in seven straight contests, while the Phillies have seen it fly above the number in four straight. The vistors send Justin Masteron (6-7, 5.64 ERA) to the mound; after back to back fantastic starts for his new team, Masterson is coming off an outing to forget in which he gave up four runs off five hits over five innings vs. the Reds on Monday; Masterson has a big opportunity to bounce back here, I think the veteran is up to the task. He'll be opposed by Jerome Williams (3-5, 5.91 ERA) who will look to build off an excellent outing vs. the Mariners on Monday in giving up one run off three hits over seven frames of work, while also striking out four; Williams is now 1-0 for his new club. Note that St. Louis has seen the total go UNDER the number in seven of 12 this year as a road favorite in the -125 to -150 range, while Philadelphia has seen it stay below the posted number in 15 of 25 as a home dog in the +125 to +150 range. I think the situation, the numbers and the trends all point to the UNDER as the sharp wager in this contest.
