AAA's FRIDAY NIGHT 3-GAME COLLEGE FOOTBALL REPORT!
(NCAAF) Washington State vs. Stanford,
Point Spread: 17.00 | -110.00 Washington State (Away)
Result: Push
This is an 8* play on Washington State.

Stanford is coming off a 17-14 loss at Notre Dame last week and I think that heart-breaking setback lingers with the team on the short week, giving high-flying Washington State the window it needs to at least keep this one a lot more competitive than what the oddsmakers are leading us to believe. Stanford will now need to run the table and get some help if it has any chance at three-peating as conference champion and because of the overwhelming task that lies ahead of it, I believe tonight's game sets up as a classic "letdown" spot. This is a big opportunity then for Washington State QB Connor Halliday and company. It's true that Cardinal are 8-0 after a loss under coach Shaw's tenure and that they haven't dropped consecutive games since October 2009, but the road ahead of them is truly one filled with dangers; note that four of Stanford's last seven contests are away from home. Also note that Cardinal QB Kevin Hogan is dealing with a minor leg injury right now which has limited his time in practice this week. No injury issues for Halliday though who threw for an NCAA-record 734 yards in his team's 60-59 loss at California last week; Halliday would finish 49 of 70 with six TD's. Note, already 2-1 ATS this year vs. team's with winning records, Washington State is 10-5 ATS in the same position over the last two. And note that Stanford is just 2-3 ATS as favorite this year and only 13-15 ATS in the same position over the last two. A great situational/trend based pick, I think the "Air Raid" keeps this one close enough to sneak in through the back door down the stretch; play on WASHINGTON STATE.
