AAA's VERY EARLY (9:30 AM EST) *Lions/Falcons* LIVE FROM ENGLAND *BLOCKBUSTER*
(NFL) Detroit vs. Atlanta,
Point Spread: 4.00 | -110.00 Atlanta (Home)
Result: Win
This is an 8* BLOCKBUSTER on the Atlanta Falcons.

For a number of different reasons, I like the Falcons to come away with at least the ATS cover in England today. Atlanta comes in desperate, it's lost four straight. The Lions are banged up on the offensive side of the ball and have been fortunate that their defensive unit continues to bail them out; suffice it to say, I think that trend finally ends on Sunday. Note that the league's No. 1 unit took a hit as tackle CJ Mosley was sent home for an unspecified violation of team rules; Mosley had 2.5 sacks coming in. Detroit needed all of its defensive prowess to pull off a 24-23 win over New Orleans last week as QB Matt Stafford was just 27 of 40 for 299 yards, two TD's and two INT's; note that Detroit's offense is averaging just 17.5 points over its last six games without star receiver Calvin Johnson in the lineup. Note that RB Reggie Bush has also been ruled out for this contest. The Falcons can empathize, they're averaging just 17 points during the four-game skid, most recently getting held to just 254 yards of total offense in Sunday's 29-7 loss at Baltimore. Despite all of its struggles though, note that Atlanta has just one fewer win than South Division leading Carolina. Note that Detroit is 0-4 ATS in its last four after two or more consecutive SU wins, while Atlanta is 6-4 ATS in its last ten as an underdog in the 3.5 to 9.5 points range. I feel that the Lions inefficiencies on the offensive side of the ball finally catch up to them today and that the "hungrier" team finds a way to get the job done; play on ATLANTA.
